Bag Project

The Blessing Bag Project, headed up by the women’s ministry, is an effort to showcase Christ-like love to those down on their luck and often are looked on as unlovable. They gather donations into bags for the people of our church to take and have on hand to pass out to individuals of the unhoused community when they see/meet them.

Why This Matters

At Hebron Baptist Church, we believe in living out the love of Christ by reaching out to those in our community who are often overlooked and marginalized. The Blessing Bag Project, led by our women’s ministry, is a heartfelt initiative born out of this conviction.

Scripture reminds us in Matthew 25:40 that when we serve the least among us, we are serving Jesus Himself: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." This project is not just about providing physical necessities; it’s about extending dignity, compassion, and the love of Christ to individuals who may feel forgotten.

In our bustling world, it’s easy to overlook those who are experiencing homelessness. But these individuals are valued by God, each with a unique story and worth. By assembling these Blessing Bags, we aim to meet practical needs and, more importantly, to affirm the inherent dignity of every person we encounter.

As we distribute these bags, we hope to build relationships and foster a sense of community, bridging gaps and demonstrating that everyone deserves to feel seen and valued. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of our unhoused neighbors, showing them the love and hope found in Christ.

Those who want to be apart of the project can help by first donating the needed items by placing them in the labeled donation bins in the church lobby on Sundays and Wednesdays.
